Window & Door Restoration Paris Hall Copped Hall Epping Essex

J. A. Pell & Son was recently invited back to Paris Hall. This time round for a external window & door restoration project, carrying out various timber repairs and renovation work on around 50 timber windows and doors. Paris Hall is spectacular Grade II (2) listed property located on the Copped Hall Estate in Epping, Essex.

Several of the timber windows & doors were in great condition, just needing some general prep and renovation. While many needed some extensive restoration and renovation works to get them up to a presentable standard. All while keeping them original as possible.

The prep process is a heavy sand to cut back any flaky paint etc back to bare timber, expose any problem areas and removing any rot and decay. Any rotten or damaged areas were hardened and treated with a solvent based wood hardening solution. Once this hardening solution has cured, areas are then filled with a 2 part repair filler. The filler then moulded, cut and sanded into shape where needed. Ensuring a good quality repair with superior materials. Any more extensive damage escalates to either splicing in a repair patch or replacing a whole timber section if needed. Obviously keeping as much original structure as possible.

All of the timber windows and doors where then dusted off, washed off, primed, undercoated and top coated to ensure a top quality and original looking window & door restoration.

You can see our other project at Paris Hall which was a Hand Painted Kitchen Renovation on our website.
