J. A. Pell & Son recently carried out this complete lounge refurbishment for a fantastic repeat client in Plaistow, East London.
The room had been left dormant for many years and the client wanted to put it back to good use. All existing loose plaster on the external wall was removed prior to works a few months back, as there was a leak we previously repaired from a tank in the loft which had damaged the external wall. With the room stripped bare we started the task of putting things back together.
Float and set where needed with sand and cement render on the external wall. The chimney breast was made safe with a concrete lintel and reconstructed with timber studwork and plasterboard. The ceiling was over boarded to save removing the old larve and plaster. The whole room was then prepped for plastering and then skimmed to a high quality finish. All new ogee skirting was installed to match the rest of the property.
The whole room was then prepped and painted using a Dulux paint system. Brilliant white ceiling and walls, brilliant white satin woodwork and a natural hessian feature wall wrapped round the chimney breast. A really nice transformation leaving the client with a fantastic space to entertain family and friends once again for many years to come.
